Product Information
Name:Terrylene
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Terrylene is a model system that can be used to study the photochemical properties of aromatic hydrocarbon compounds. Terrylene is a low-energy fluorescent molecule with a cyclohexane ring and two styryl dye groups. The fluorescence properties of Terrylene are sensitive to the environment and are dependent on the presence of nitrogen atoms, which can be introduced into the molecule by adding a solution containing nitrogen gas. This reaction solution also contains pluronic P123, which is an organic polymer that has been shown to increase the solubility of Terrylene in water. The photophysical properties of Terrylene have been studied extensively, including its fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) properties with other molecules such as rhodamine B or fluorescein.
