Talastine is a drug that belongs to the class of analogs. It has been shown to have potent anti-cancer effects on many carcinoma cell lines. Talastine is also active against autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. The binding site for talastine is unknown, but it has been shown to inhibit receptor activity in vitro. It also inhibits the synthesis of proteins by inhibiting mRNA translation and protein synthesis. Talastine has not been found to have any effect on rat kidneys or infectious diseases in vivo, but does show some symptoms when used in humans.
