Description:

1,2,4-Triazin-5-amine is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have significant activity against the enzyme carbonyl reductase. The term "significant" refers to the inhibition of this enzyme by 1,2,4-triazin-5-amine in a dose dependent manner. This inhibition was observed with allosteric inhibitors and orthosteric inhibitors. 1,2,4-Triazin-5-amine has also been shown to be effective in inhibiting phosphatases and butyric acid hydrolase in vitro. The mechanism of 1,2,4-triazin-5-amine is unknown but it is thought that it may act as an inhibitor of human diseases such as Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease.
