3,5,6-Trihydroxy-2-(2-methylbutanoyl)-4,6-bis(3-methylbut-2-enyl)cyclohexa-2,4-dien-1-one is a naturally occurring chemical compound that has shown anticancer and antimicrobial properties. It has been used as an analytical method for the determination of phenolic acids in plant extracts and for the preparation of samples for cell culture experiments. 3,5,6-Trihydroxy-2-(2-methylbutanoyl)-4,6-bis(3-methylbut-2-enyl)cyclohexa-2,4--dien--1 -one has also been shown to have antiinflammatory effects in mice. These effects are due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and activation of the nuclear factor kappa B pathway.
