- Pyrophosphoric acid, tetrabenzyl ester
Tetrabenzyl pyrophosphate is a cyclic peptide that is synthesized from the reaction of sodium hydroxide solution and anhydrous acetonitrile. The synthesis of this compound is a two-step process, with the first step being an addition reaction between sodium carbonate and anhydrous acetonitrile to produce tetrabenzyl pyrophosphate. This product has shown promising results in clinical studies for the treatment of inflammatory diseases by acting as an inhibitory compound on neurokinin-1 receptors. Tetrabenzyl pyrophosphate has also been shown to be effective against polymorphic reactions, which may be due to its ability to act as a nucleophile and attack hydroxide solutions.
