Tosufloxacin toluenesulfonate hydrate is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that is used in the treatment of infections in pediatric patients. This drug binds to bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are enzymes that maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. Tosufloxacin has shown efficacy against gram-positive bacteria and its toxicity studies have been conducted using a model of acute skin irritation.
