- N-TrifluoroacetyladriamycinNSC 283464(8S-cis)-7,8,9,10-Tetrahydro-6,8,11-trihydroxy-8-(hydroxyacetyl)-1-methoxy-10-[[2,3,6-trideox y-3-[(trifluoroacetyl)amino]-a-L-lyxo-hexopyranosyl]oxy]-5,12-naphthacenedione
N-Trifluoroacetyldoxorubicin is an analog of daunorubicin. It has been shown to damage the cell membrane, which leads to leakage of intracellular contents and activation of a number of pathways that lead to apoptosis. N-Trifluoroacetyldoxorubicin has been shown to be effective against leukemia cells in tissue samples, as well as leukemia cells in culture. It also inhibits the growth of tissues from patients with leukemia, leading to a decrease in the size and number of cancerous cells. N-Trifluoroacetyldoxorubicin has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancerous cells by damaging cell membranes and inhibiting DNA synthesis. This drug is administered intravenously or intramuscularly, and can only be given once every three days due to its short half-life.
