Triflusal is a cell factor that has been shown to be biocompatible with human cells in vitro. Triflusal is also a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activity in an experimental model of inflammation. Triflusal binds to the COX enzyme, thereby inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis and reducing inflammation. Triflusal also reduces the production of prothrombin and other coagulation factors, which leads to a reduction in blood clotting. Triflusal has been shown to have beneficial effects on metabolic disorders such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension by blocking the synthesis of prostaglandins. It has also been shown to inhibit platelet aggregation and reduce thromboxane production in humans. The role of triflusal in preventing atherosclerosis is currently being investigated using multivariate logistic regression analysis on data from human serum samples.
