Description:Triphenyl phosphate is a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) inhibitor that blocks the enzyme activity of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase. It is used in vitro studies to measure the effect of various chemicals on enzyme activities and has been shown to be toxicological safe for use in humans. Triphenyl phosphate is used as a retardant in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and can be used in wastewater treatment to remove glycol ethers. This chemical also has anti-inflammatory properties, which have been shown by its ability to inhibit 3t3-l1 preadipocytes from becoming hypertrophic.
