<p>Tergitol is a detection kit for the detection of fatty acids. It contains an electrochemical detector, which allows for the determination of fatty acid concentrations in a sample. Tergitol can be used to assess antimicrobial resistance (e.g., Salmonella) in bacterial strains and to optimize process conditions for the treatment of wastewater containing high levels of fatty acids. The kit contains luciferases, which are enzymes that produce light when mixed with oxygen and a substrate, such as luciferin or coelenterazine. This reaction produces light that can be detected by optical sensors and is measured in relative lumens per minute. The luciferase assay can be used to measure cell lysis or other processes that lead to increased production of reactive oxygen species (ROS).</p>
