Description

Tert-Butyl Rosuvastatin is a synthetic statin. It has a high melting point, which can be used to separate the optical isomers. The tert-butyl group of the rosuvastatin molecule makes it soluble in organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran, while the ester side chain makes it hydrolysis resistant. Tert-Butyl Rosuvastatin was found to be free of impurities and had a purity of at least 99% by liquid chromatography analysis. Analysis by mass spectrometry confirmed that no other alkali metal ions were present at greater than 0.1%.
