This molecule can be formed through the reaction of diphenyl ether with hydrogen sulfide in the presence of light, or by the reaction of benzene with sodium hydroxide in the presence of light. Tribromomethyl phenyl sulfone is used as a stabilizer for plastics and other organic materials, as well as an antioxidant for rubber products.
