Tetraethyl orthocarbonate is a benzimidazole compound that is used as an adenosine receptor antagonist. It also has been shown to inhibit the activity of gravimetric analysis, and has a hydroxyl group which can react with hydrochloric acid to form an indole carboxylate molecule. The receptor activity of Tetraethyl orthocarbonate can be explained by the complex enzyme kinetic energy. This compound is not very soluble in water, and can only be dissolved in sodium carbonate, which makes it suitable for wastewater treatment. Tetraethyl orthocarbonate is also an anhydrous sodium salt and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
