Product Information
- Trimethyl(Tributylstannyl)Silane
- Trimethylsilyltrinbutyltin
- Tributyl(trimethylsilyl)stannane
Trimethyl(tributylstannyl)silane is a palladium complex that is insoluble in water and soluble in organic solvents. It can be prepared by the reaction of caproic acid with trifluoroacetic acid, followed by the addition of chloride to produce a precipitate. Trimethyl(tributylstannyl)silane is synthesized from recycled chlorobenzene and trimethyl-tributyltin chloride. The product has been shown to selectively stabilize terminal alkynes and terminal alkenes by cleaving their carbon-carbon bonds at temperatures below -100°C. This reaction requires time for completion, typically 10 hours or more.
