Product Information
Name:TMAD
Synonyms:
- 1,1'-Azobis(N,N'-dimethylformamide)N,N,N',N'-Tetramethylazodicarboxamide
Brand:Biosynth
Description:TMAD is a synthetic compound that inhibits the enzyme caprylic acid acetyltransferase (CAT). It is also a biochemical sensor that responds to changes in the environment by changing its optical properties. TMAD can be used as a response element for salt metathesis, which is an important reaction in organic chemistry. The rate constant of the TMAD-catalyzed reaction has been determined and found to be 6.4e-4s-1. The gene for the protein ryanodine receptor (RyR) has been shown to be sensitive to TMAD and other compounds like diamide and anthranilic acid. Nuclear DNA has been shown to be damaged by TMAD, with cytosolic Ca2+ being increased. Fluorescence probe experiments have confirmed that TMAD binds to nuclear dna and cytosolic ca2+.
