Product Information

Name:2,3,6-Trimethylphenol
Synonyms:
  • 1-Hydroxy-2,3,6-trimethylbenzene
Brand:Biosynth
Description:2,3,6-Trimethylphenol is an industrial chemical that is produced by the acylation of 2,6-dimethylaniline with formaldehyde. The optimal reaction conditions for this process are at a temperature of 100°C and a pressure of 10 bar. This chemical has been shown to be an effective catalyst for the chlorination of hydrocarbons. Trimethylphenol is also used as a reagent in the preparation of other chemicals and is found in many products due to its low energy requirements. The logistic regression model has been used to assess the relationship between population growth and industrial preparation. It has been shown that there is a positive correlation between these two variables. 2,3,6-Trimethylphenol can also be found in polluted environments where it reacts with chloride ions to produce hydrogen chloride gas or methyl chloride gas. Redox potential values have been measured for this compound and it was found that the reduction potential is -0.07
