L-4,5,6,7-Tetrahydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine-6-carboxylic acid is a protonated form of a neurotransmitter. It is used to treat cervical cancer and has been shown to inhibit the replication of viruses such as Epstein Barr virus. L-4,5,6,7-Tetrahydro-1H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine-6-carboxylic acid also has been shown to have antihypertensive activity in animals. The chemical interactions of this compound are not well studied and it is unknown if dietary concentrations affect its toxicity.
