Trimedlure is a pesticide that belongs to the group of alkyl alkyls. It has been shown to have pesticidal activity against Diptera, specifically Ceratitis capitata and other pests. Trimedlure has also been found to be effective against fruit flies in laboratory tests. The polymeric matrix consists of nitrogen atoms, which have been detected by chemical analyses. The insecticide is formulated with eugenol, a type of phenol that comes from the bark and leaves of trees in the genus Cinnamomum. This compound is used as an antioxidant and flavoring agent in foods and beverages. The detection sensitivity for this product is very high because it can be detected through gas chromatography at concentrations as low as 0.5 ppm.
