Trifluoroacetyl triflate is an ethylene diamine-based reagent used for the preparation of polymeric materials. It has been shown to cross-link with a variety of polymers, such as polystyrene, poly(methyl methacrylate), and poly(vinyl chloride). Trifluoroacetyl triflate is also a precursor in the synthesis of cannabidiol compounds, which are found in health care products.
The chemical structure of this compound is a spiroketal ring with three trifluoroacetyl groups attached to one carbon atom.
