Description

2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl Formate is an organic compound that can be used as a fuel in diesel engines. It is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of -14.5°C and a molecular weight of 60.06 g/mol. 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl Formate is not soluble in water and has very low solubility in other organic solvents. This compound has been shown to have antiviral and antibacterial properties against hepatitis C virus and infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria. 2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl Formate also has the ability to inhibit the activity of enzymes such as ns3 protease and amines oxidases.
