Tris(2,6-dimethoxyphenyl)phosphine (TMPP) is a metal complex that can be used as an inhibitor for the palladium-catalyzed coupling of aryl halides and vinyl halides. The uptake and reaction mechanism of TMPP are not well understood, but it has been proposed that uptake is dependent on the presence of two or more phosphines. The biological properties of TMPP are not well characterized, but it has been shown to have a low toxicity to human serum. TMPP has shown promising anticancer properties in prostate cancer cells in vitro, although it has yet to be tested in vivo.
