Trifluoromethanesulfonanilide inhibits the growth of insects by binding to the receptors in their nerve cells, which causes paralysis and death. Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid is the active metabolite of trifluoromethanesulfonanilide and it binds to DNA and RNA molecules, inhibiting transcription and replication.
