• Description: Triamyl phosphate is a polycarboxylic acid that is used to prepare fatty acids and carboxylic acids for analysis. It is also used as a cationic polymerization initiator, where it reacts with anhydrous sodium to form sodium triamylate. This reaction then produces monomers that are able to be polymerized by heat or chemically. The solubility of triamyl phosphate in water can be increased by adding hydrochloric acid, diphenyl ether, or dry weight. The reaction solution can be analyzed using the analytical method of gas chromatography (GC) with a test sample of solubility data.
