Tricyclohexylphosphine is a x-ray crystal structure that has been shown to be used in the synthesis of glycol ethers. The coordination geometry of tricyclohexylphosphine is tetrahedral, which makes it an excellent catalyst for transfer reactions because it can easily react with molecules that have different shapes. Tricyclohexylphosphine has been shown to fluoresce when mixed with certain substances such as glycerol, which can be helpful in structural analysis.
