Product Information
Name:Thiochrome
Synonyms:
- 2,7-Dimethyl-5H-thiachromine-8-ethanol
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Thiochrome is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) on the surface of cells. It is used in analytical chemistry for the determination of fatty acids in hydrochloric acid samples. Thiochrome binds to fatty acids and then emits fluorescence when excited by a laser or light-emitting diode. This technique is based on the principle of competitive inhibition. The binding of thiochrome to EGFR inhibits the binding of epidermal growth factor, thereby inhibiting cell proliferation.
