Product Information
7,8,4'-Trihydroxyflavone is a flavonoid that is found in Oroxylum indicum. This compound has been shown to have anti-diabetic activity and inhibit the mitochondrial membrane potential of HL-60 cells. It also has an effect on apoptosis pathway by inhibiting the matrix effect and hydrogen bond. 7,8,4'-Trihydroxyflavone also inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells and cellular adhesion. Furthermore, this compound can be iodinated with I2 to form 7-Iodo-8,4'-dihydroxyflavone. This reaction generates a reactive iodine atom that can react with proteins to form covalent bonds. The iodination reaction is reversible under physiological conditions and can be used for therapeutic purposes by selectively targeting specific proteins.
