Description:2,4,6-Trimethylstyrene is a monomer that is used in the production of polymers. It can be polymerized with sodium carbonate to form high resistance films. 2,4,6-Trimethylstyrene is an inhibitor molecule that reacts with other molecules to form chemical crosslinks and harden the film. 2,4,6-Trimethylstyrene has been shown to have a high degree of stability in plasma proteins and polymerization initiators. This monomer has been used for the production of elastomers and hydroxyl group containing polymers. 2,4,6-Trimethylstyrene is reactive with fatty acids or other reactive functional groups to produce an ester or an amide linkage during polymerization.
