2,4,6-Trifluorobenzaldehyde is an inhibitor of serine protease. It is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme lp-pla2 that has been shown to be involved in the replication of DNA. The inhibitory effect has been proven by its ability to prevent the reaction solution from changing color when exposed to lp-pla2 in coordination chemistry studies. 2,4,6-Trifluorobenzaldehyde has also been shown to inhibit cancer cells and inflammatory compounds such as those found in autoimmune diseases.
