Product Information
Name:Tetraisopropyl methylenediphosphonate
Synonyms:
- TIPMDP
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Tetraisopropyl methylenediphosphonate is a colorant that is used in the manufacture of dyes, paints and other products. It is also used as a reagent to synthesize new compounds with nitrogen-containing groups. Tetraisopropyl methylenediphosphonate is formed by the reaction of hydrochloric acid with a diazonium salt, such as nitrobenzene. This compound can be oxidized to form tetraisopropyl methylenediphosphonic acid (TIMP) in the presence of chloride. TIMP has been shown to have effects on bone resorption and heart disease. The mechanism of action for this compound is not yet fully known, but it may inhibit the growth factor involved in bone resorption or affect cardiac cells.
