The drug's effects have been compared with those of benazepril hydrochloride and carbonyl group analogues using magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Salvianolic acid A and benazepril hydrochloride inhibited the reaction product formation between 3,4,5-trichloropyridine and 2-aminophenol (2AP) by 50%.
