Trimethoxy(Pentafluorophenyl)Silane is a particle that is made of aliphatic hydrocarbon. It has a diameter of 0.1 nm and reacts with water vapor to form a spherical particle, which can be used for coatings on low-light surfaces. Trimethoxy(Pentafluorophenyl)Silane has also been shown to have high resistance to light and water vapor and is an excellent candidate for coatings in areas such as aircraft or ships, where it can protect against corrosion from salt water. This compound also has the ability to react with hydroxyl groups, hydrochloric acid, and sodium carbonate. This reaction creates an aromatic hydrocarbon called pentafluorobenzene. The optical properties of this compound are unknown at this time.
