2,2,2-Trifluoroethyl trifluoroacetate is a trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) derivative that is used as an electrolyte in the production of hydrogen fluoride. It has been shown to inhibit the enzyme propionate kinase and increase the concentration of methyl ethyl ketone in vitro. TFA derivatives are also known to be useful for kinetic studies due to their reactivity with other compounds. The mechanism of this reaction is not yet fully understood, but it may involve a metathesis reaction or another type of substitution reaction.
Groups:
-Hydrogen Fluoride
-Propionate
-Methyl Ethyl Ketone
