Product Information
Name:Tetraisopropyl Difluoromethylenebisphosphonate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Tetraisopropyl Difluoromethylenebisphosphonate (TFP) is a prodrug that will be converted to the active form, fluorouracil, in the body. TFP is not an antimicrobial agent and does not inhibit microbial activity by itself. It is used to treat proliferative disorders such as cancer and viral infections, including herpes simplex virus. Fluorouracil is a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis by competing with natural substrates for incorporation into DNA. Fluorouracil also inhibits RNA synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase. This drug has antiviral properties and can be used to treat herpes simplex virus infections.
