Description:
3,4,5-Trifluorobenzenemethanol is a cationic polymer that can be used as a cross-linking agent. It is synthesized through the reaction of selenium compounds with an amine and formaldehyde. The mechanism of the reaction is not well understood, but it has been shown to desulfurize organic solvents and react with metal surfaces. 3,4,5-Trifluorobenzenemethanol is soluble in acid solutions and quaternary ammonium salts are also soluble in this solvent.
