Description:Sodium urate is a sodium salt of uric acid that belongs to the class of crystals. It is used as an experimental model for gout. Sodium urate crystals are found in joints and tissues, where they cause pain and inflammation. The low-dose group showed significant decreases in serum uric acid levels, polymerase chain reaction activity, enzyme activities, and polymorphonuclear leucocyte counts compared to the control group. Sodium urate can also be observed in human serum, which may be due to metabolic disorders or polymorphonuclear leucocyte activation.
