Description:

2-Vinyl-1H-benzimidazole is a polymerizable monomer with reactive groups. The proton spectrum of the n-oxide has been reported and the polymerization technique has been investigated. This compound can be copolymerized with other polymers, such as polypropylene or polyethylene, to produce new materials for use in medical devices, packaging, and construction materials. 2-Vinyl-1H-benzimidazole reacts through elimination reactions and intramolecular hydrogen transfer to produce benzimidazole derivatives.
