Product Information
Name:Vinyl carbamate
Synonyms:
- Ethenyl ester
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Vinyl carbamate is a reactive chemical that is carcinogenic in animals. It can be synthesized by reacting vinyl chloride with anhydrous ammonia at high temperature and pressure. Vinyl carbamate is used in the synthesis of polymers, such as epidermal growth factor and hydroxyl group-containing proteins. It also has been used to prepare monoclonal antibodies against the cd-1 mouse lymphoma cell line. However, it should not be used at low doses due to its carcinogenic potential. The carcinogenic effects of vinyl carbamate have been observed in mice after administration of a single dose (2 mg/kg) or repeated doses (0.3 mg/kg per day for 5 days).
