• Description: VP 14637 is a monoclonal antibody that is used for the treatment of syncytial virus infection. It binds to the surface of the virus, preventing it from entering cells and replicating. VP 14637 also prevents symptoms of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection, such as chronic pulmonary disease, congenital heart disease, and symptoms related to asthma. The antibody is a crystalline polymorph with binding constants in the nanomolar range. The drug has been shown to inhibit viral replication by binding to RSV-F protein and blocking its ability to enter cells. VP 14637 has a high bioavailability in both healthy subjects and patients with chronic pulmonary disease. A single dose of this drug results in high concentrations of VP 14637 at lower doses than other antiviral drugs.
