• Description: Wulignan A1 is a flavonoid isolated from Fructus Quercitrin. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against leukemia cells and influenza virus. Wulignan A1 inhibits influenza virus replication by inhibiting the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase activity of the virus and interfering with viral protein synthesis. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit the replication of other viruses, including Venezuelan equine encephalitis (VEE) and neochlorogenic acid resistant strains of HIV-1. Wulignan A1 has also been found to have anti-inflammatory effects through inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in some cell types.
