Description:
Yunaconitine is a diterpenoid alkaloid extracted from the dried roots of Carthamus tinctorius. It has antiinflammatory activity, and has been shown to inhibit acute toxicities in rats. Yunaconitine has also been found to have a protective effect on physiological function in the gastrointestinal tract and to reduce fatty acid absorption. Yunaconitine is not readily absorbed through the skin and oral administration may be preferred for therapeutic use.
