This compound has been shown to have photocatalytic activity when activated by light. It has been found to be heat resistant up to 110°C, which makes it suitable for use in coating and printing applications. 2-Mercaptobenzimidazole zinc salt has carboxylate properties that allow it to react with calcium carbonate and hydrogen tartrate for industrial purposes.
