Zeylenol is a natural compound that belongs to the family of fatty acids. It has been shown to have a number of biological activities, including anti-inflammatory properties and inhibition of cancer cells. Zeylenol can also inhibit the expression of inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, IL-1β, and IL-6. This natural product has been shown to be effective against infections caused by staphylococcus bacteria in mice studies. Zeylenol is an antibiotic that can inhibit the efflux pump in Gram-negative bacteria and thus prevent the extrusion of antibiotics from bacterial cells.
