Product Information
- 9H-fluoren-9-ol, 9-methyl-
9-Methyl-9H-fluoren-9-ol is a cytochrome P450 substrate that has been shown to inhibit the peroxidative activity of rat liver microsomes by hydroxylation and oxidation. 9-Methyl-9H-fluoren-9-ol also has a high affinity for the microsomal protein fraction, where it is converted to 9,10'-dihydroperoxyfluorene. The functional theory of polymorphism provides an explanation for the formation of two different types of crystals from this compound. 9,10'-Dihydroperoxyfluorene can be oxidized to form 9,10'-dihydrofluorenone and then further oxidized to form 9,10'-dihydrobenzo[a]pyrene. This molecule is also known as perfluorinated because it contains two fluorine atoms bonded to each other in a linear fashion.
