It is also resistant to high temperatures and may be used for the treatment of bacterial infections. 3,5-Dichlorophenyl isothiocyanate has antibacterial properties and can inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to fatty acids or dione. 3,5-Dichlorophenyl isothiocyanate has also been shown to have antifungal properties against Candida albicans and Trichophyton rubrum.
