Description:17α-Dihydroequilenin is a synthetic analogue of equilenin, which is the 17-hydroxy metabolite of estradiol. It binds to estrogen receptors, but does not cause transcriptional activation or the induction of pro-apoptotic proteins. 17α-Dihydroequilenin has been shown to be effective in the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
