Royleanone is a natural compound that belongs to the diterpene family and has been shown to have potent anticancer effects on prostate cancer cells. Royleanone inhibits mitochondrial membrane depolarization and anti-cancer properties by inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids. Royleanone also inhibits cell proliferation, induces cell death, and reduces the mitochondrial membrane potential in prostate cancer cells. It is able to inhibit tumor growth in vivo by inducing apoptosis. Royleanone also shows an ability to maintain or improve insulin sensitivity in diabetic patients when administered orally.
