Product Information
Imbricatolic acid is a terpene that can be found in the genus Ficus. It has been shown to induce apoptosis by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis and promoting the accumulation of intracellular reactive oxygen species. Imbricatolic acid also inhibits the growth of tumour cells, including those resistant to chemo- and radiotherapy. This compound has been shown to have insulin resistance-lowering effects by inhibiting glucose uptake in liver cells, which may make it an effective treatment for type 2 diabetes. Imbricatolic acid also has hepatoprotective effects, as it protects against hepatic injury caused by chemical or drug-induced toxicity.
