Product Information

Name:
N-Methylpyridine-4-carboxamide
Synonyms:
  • 4-Pyridinecarboxamide, N-methyl-
Description:

N-Methylpyridine-4-carboxamide is a linker that can be either an anion or a cation. It has been shown to be effective against cancer cells at high concentrations, up to 100 mM in cell culture. N-Methylpyridine-4-carboxamide is also able to inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in cultured cells. It is able to do this by binding to the DNA of the cancer cells and interfering with the process of transcription and replication. The copolymerization technique has been shown to increase the antitumor activity of N-methylpyridine-4-carboxamide. This ligand can also act as a potential anti-inflammatory agent due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
