Eupatoriopicrin is a sesquiterpene lactone that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. It inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to an accumulation of reactive oxygen species and cell death. Eupatoriopicrin has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on cancer cells in vivo and in vitro. Eupatoriopicrin also has locomotor activity-enhancing effects in animals. The acetate extract of this substance has been shown to be effective against cancer cells in tissue culture.
