Dimethylamine Hydrobromide is a cationic surfactant that alters the surface tension of water and may be used as a hepatoprotectant. It has been shown to reduce the growth of primary liver tumors in mice and is effective at doses below 100mg/kg. The molecular weight of this compound is 178.2 g/mol, which makes it a non-polar solvent. Dimethylamine Hydrobromide is also used as an experimental drug for colorectal adenocarcinoma and can inhibit target gene expression. Its nmr spectra are distinctive and can be used to identify this compound.
